Act V, i

Hamlet’s interaction with the gravediggers is one of my favorite scenes in al of literature.  What does it reveal to us about Hamlet?

Also, knowing me as your teacher all year, why do you think I like it?

  1. Mr. you like clever, funny and cocky characters I have noticed. Probably that is why you enjoy this scene so much. It is also a smart and humorist part of the movie, something you also like. I cant think of any other idea of why you like this part so badly. that is my guess

  2. You like this scene because you like philosophy and also I figured out you enjoy acting and this scene was also really funny at the begginig. I also think this because you enjoy life alot, and you are a sensible man. You know that what everybody said in tha scene is true about life. Above all because you value your life a lot, and you always want to take advantage of it.

You liked this scene Mr. because it is a very deep scene. A lot of emotions are presented and I think you love emotions and feelings. You are the kind of person who really loves acting and loves how people interact with other people by presenting true and really hard feelings. I also liked a lot I think this scene was very creative and very unique, it sparkled a lot in the movie and it was a really creative and important scene in Hamlet.

  4. You like this scene because it has a balance of both humor with philosophy and intelligence in it. Since you like to be a funny guy and seem to enjoy making jokes to other people, this scene appeals to you, and also appeals to you because of the profoundness of the scene and the thinking part there's to it too. This is one of Hamlet's and Shakespeare's most memorable and important scenes, so maybe that's also why you appreciate this part. The combination of humor and philosophy connect perfectly and make this scene a pretty enjoyable one.

  5. Mr. I think you like this scene because you like to make things clever. An the gravedigger number one does not give away information to make it all clear but to let you mind work. Besides it is a scene that makes you think about death, jobs, hope, optimism etc. The gravedigger also seems like someone who enjoys life in any aspect and you seem to be one of those people who will see a bright side on everything.

  6. I think you like this particular scene so much because you see the social differences between a prince and a grave digger, and both following each other as if they belonged to the same social class. I also think you like it because the grave digger has a great sense of humor and it contrasts the humor of Hamlet.

The interaction between the gravediggers and Hamlet is one that makes a connection between opposites, since it is a scene filled with humor, grief (death), difference of social classes and philosophy. I think philosophy is the one that brings the two different worlds together because it states in a humoristic way that everyone will end up in the same place, no matter what. I think you like the philosophical point in this scene, but what you like the most, is the attitude of the gravedigger towards life. The gravedigger is someone cocky, intelligent, humoristic, but at the same time down to earth. Somehow, due to his job, it seems as if he was not afraid of death because he sees life with optimistic eyes. In addition, I think you like this scene because it shows that everyone has something to teach because they will probably say something you didn´t knew.

  8. I think you liked this scene so much because both humor and philosophy are involved. You had a connection with this scene because you seem to be a very funny guy that enjoys a lot funny moments in movies and videos. You also like to say jokes and have fun during the day and your classes. Also because you enjoy acting so much and you can have a better feeling of what is happening. You also have a connection with the scene because of the philosophy of the movie.

  9. I think you like a lot this scene because something bad was turned into something good. A job as a gravedigger doesn't look very fun, in fact it seems like a sad job... -but these two gravediggers seem to enjoy their job. They have a differente perspective of their job than most people have. They think their job is trascendetal. I think you like when things are seen from other perspectives.

  10. I think you like thses scene cause the Grave digger is a funny person who demonstrates his intelligence inside of him and a humorous way to show it to other people. In an other way it also shows how people dont always need to have a good and comfortable job to be happy you can always find the happines of life in everything you just need to look for the fun part of it.

  11. I think that you like this scene so much because it is funny and an ironic scene that you wouldn't expect to happen. I know you enjoy random scenes like these so that is why this happens to be your favorite scene. Also the gravedigger is your kind of character, one who is funny and intelligent.

  12. Mr. Gerber I think you like this scene of the play because it has a funny and philosophical intercation between the gravediggers. They use the metaphor to say that their work last longer than any other job by any other person since their their work last forever.

  13. I think you like it not only because of the eloquent words the characters speak, but also because of the characters themselves. Gravedigger #1 in particular is most likely your favourite because his thoughts and words are deeply philosophical, yet at the same time, he is quite the informal character. What makes him more interesting is how comfortable he is when handling the bones in spite of knowing whom they belonged to when they lived.
From this scene, we learn not only that Hamlet is sentimental about his infancy and dearly misses those who made him smile as a kid, but also that he was in fact in love with Ophelia; he even challenges her brother by telling him he (Hamlet) loved Ophelia more.

  14. I think you like this scene so much because the gravedigger represents a funny and simple character but he also is very smart and philosophical, and he knows what he is saying. I think that combination is something you really enjoy and that why I think you like this scene.
